Privacy Policy

Honest Debt ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed and operated by EXAFABS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Honest Debt mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name through our authentication provider (Clerk). You may sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple.

Self-Reported Financial Information: You may voluntarily enter information about your debts (a name you choose, balance, interest rate, minimum payment), monthly income, savings, a self-reported credit score range, payoff goals, and how you're feeling about your debt (stress check-ins). This data is stored securely in our database (Convex) and is associated with your account.

What we deliberately do NOT collect: account numbers, bank logins or credentials, card numbers, or any connection to your financial institutions. The App has no bank-linking capability and cannot move money.

Subscription Information: If you subscribe to Honest Debt Pro, payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (via RevenueCat) but never see your payment details.

Notifications: If you enable reminders, we store a device push token so we can deliver them. Notification content never includes your balances.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To compute your personalized payoff plan (avalanche / snowball), progress, and financial health score
• To simulate payoff scenarios you ask for
• To provide plain-English explanations of your plan
• To process and manage your subscription
• To improve the App's functionality and user experience

3. AI Processing

The App uses AI models (Claude by Anthropic) to generate plain-English explanations of your plan and options. Only the minimum context needed for an explanation is sent, in pseudonymized form. Your data is never used to train AI models.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication tokens are stored on your device using encrypted storage.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers ("sub-processors") essential to the App's operation, each acting on our instructions:

• Clerk (clerk.com) — authentication, session management, account profiles
• Convex (convex.dev) — database, real-time sync, serverless backend
• Anthropic (anthropic.com) — Claude AI models powering plan explanations
• RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — subscription orchestration and entitlements
• Sentry (sentry.io) — error monitoring and diagnostics
• PostHog (posthog.com, EU region) — anonymous and pseudonymous product analytics; we do not send debt balances or other financial values to PostHog
• Apple App Store — app distribution and in-app subscription processing; Apple handles all payment information

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and data from within the App, or by emailing alpit@exafabs.ai (processed within one business day). Backups are purged within 30 days of deletion.

7. Your Rights

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and will delete any such data promptly if discovered.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
