How does Honest Debt build my payoff plan?

You enter your debts manually — balance, interest rate (APR), and minimum payment. No bank logins, ever. The app's payoff engine computes your debt-free date, total interest, and a month-by-month plan using the avalanche, snowball, or lower-bills method. Every figure is computed math — the AI only explains it in plain English.

How do I add, edit, or delete a debt?

Add debts from the Debts screen with the + button. Tap any debt to edit its balance, APR, or minimum payment, or to delete it. Your plan recalculates instantly.

What's the difference between Avalanche, Snowball, and Lower Bills?

Avalanche pays the highest-interest debt first (saves the most money). Snowball pays the smallest balance first (quick wins). Lower Bills targets the largest monthly payment first (frees up cash flow fastest). Switch anytime on the Plans tab.

What is Honest Debt Pro and what does it include?

Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) that unlocks unlimited AI plan explanations, the full Scenario Simulator with saved scenarios, and the downloadable PDF plan report. The free version always includes your full payoff plan, all three strategies, option comparison, and progress score.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. To manage or cancel: open the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Honest Debt Pro. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the current period ends.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Open the Pro screen in the app and tap "Restore purchases". Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you purchased with.

Is my financial data safe?

Honest Debt never connects to your bank and never moves money. You enter rough numbers yourself; they're stored securely and used only to compute your plan. We don't sell your data.

How do I export or delete my data?

Both are in the app: Profile → Settings → "Export my data" sends you a copy of everything we store. Profile → Settings → "Delete account" permanently erases your account and all data.

Does the app give financial advice?

No. Honest Debt is an educational planning tool — estimates only, not financial, legal, or credit advice. For debt counselling, we point you to licensed nonprofit counselors inside the app.

Which currencies are supported?

30+ currencies. Pick your country during onboarding and every figure displays in your local currency — no conversion is ever applied.
